GUIDE ON ADMITTING STUDENTS TO GRADUATE PROGRAMS FOR THE 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR FALL SEMESTER

IMPORTANT: Candidates are strongly advised to obtain their Exam Entry Documents 2 (two) days before the exam, as the Professional Knowledge Assessment exam halls may vary.

Confirmed preferences cannot be deleted or changed.

* Some information (university, GPA, etc.) of the candidates who will apply to our graduate programs and who have graduated from higher education institutions in Turkey will be obtained through YÖKSİS. For this reason, those who are not registered with YÖKSİS are required to register with YÖKSİS at the universities where they graduated or graduated. Candidates whose information cannot be obtained through YÖKSİS cannot complete their applications. YÖKSİS Registration information can be queried here. 

 

Candidates who have graduated from a university abroad will enter their information through the system themselves. Those who do not have a university name can choose the 'Overseas (Other) University' option.

* Candidates who will apply to master's programs must have a bachelor's degree or be a student in the last semester of their undergraduate education for conditional pre-admission.

* Candidates who will apply to Master's programs with thesis are required to have received a score of 40 or above from YDS (or an equivalent score from an equivalent exam). (There is no foreign language requirement for foreign students.)

* Candidates who will apply to doctoral programs must have a master's degree with thesis or be able to graduate. The requirement is to have a score of 55 or above from YDS (or an equivalent score from an equivalent exam). However, candidates who have graduated from undergraduate programs that are 100% taught in a foreign language are not required to have a language score when applying to doctoral programs that teach in Turkish.

* It is recommended that candidates have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in the fields they will apply for or in similar fields. Candidates who have received their Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field different from the Master's or Doctorate programs they applied for take the courses deemed necessary within the scope of the Scientific Preparation Program by the decision of the Department and the Institute Board of Directors.

* Candidates who are eligible to graduate and apply to graduate programs must submit their graduation certificates on the exact registration dates.

* Candidates can apply to 1 (one) graduate program (master's degree with thesis and doctorate).

* Except for non-thesis Master's programs, it is not possible to enroll and continue in more than one graduate program. For this reason, those who have a thesis master's or doctorate registration at other higher education institutions must cancel their current registrations before final registration to our Institute.

* Candidates; Must attend the Scientific Evaluation Exam, Interview Exam, as well as all written and oral exams to be administered by the relevant Department/Science Branch. Otherwise, they are not taken into account in the success evaluation.

* Candidates to be interviewed are determined as a result of the preliminary evaluation of the applications by the relevant jury within the framework of ALES, graduation grade, foreign language score, professional knowledge evaluation and other principles determined by the Senate. A candidate who does not take the Professional Knowledge Assessment exam cannot enter the interview.

** For reserve quota; Vacant quotas are announced by the relevant units to replace the principals who do not register by the final registration dates. Pre-registration is taken from the substitutes on the list with a petition on the relevant date(s). This petition is for determining the candidates who are eligible to be evaluated for final registration. Reserve candidates who have not submitted a pre-registration petition cannot obtain the right to register even if their scores are high. All candidates who have pre-registered with a petition are ranked from highest to lowest score at the end of the day. According to the success ranking, a reserve list equal to the vacant quota is announced for final registration. Reserve candidates who are entitled to final registration apply to the relevant Institute for final registration on the dates specified in the academic calendar and complete the registration process.

* Blue Card holders can apply from only one nationality.

* Candidates with TRNC nationality will be evaluated as Turkish citizens and will be able to apply for Turkish Citizen quotas. ALES score is required for the applications of these candidates.

* Foreign national candidates must have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in any higher education institution in the country or abroad where the language of instruction is Turkish, or have passed the B2 (TÖMER) Turkish exam conducted by TÖMER, Marmara-TÖMER, Yunus Emre Institute or one of the higher education institutions in Turkey. or have an official document showing that he/she has received the equivalent score.

* Candidates who completed their education abroad are required to have a GPA calculated on a 4-point or 100-point system in their transcript documents. This calculation is not made by our University. In addition, the Foreign Higher Education Diplomas Recognition and Equivalence document must be submitted to the Institute during final registration.

* ALES exam is valid for 5 (five) years from the date the results are announced.

* The validity of Foreign Language Exams KPDS and ÜDS has expired. A validity period of five years has been determined for YDS and e-YDS from the date of the exam. Regulations regarding the validity of YÖKDİL will be the same as YDS.

* Applications for graduate programs will only be received through the application system.

* Horizontal transfer applications are made in person to the relevant institute. In this case, the application will not be received from the system. You can find information about horizontal transfer here.

* Places and dates of Professional Knowledge Evaluation and Interview will be announced on the Institute website (https://turkiyat.marmara.edu.tr/).

* Applications not made within the specified period will not be taken into consideration.

* Among the programs announced in the quota table, there are conditions regarding prerequisites and space limitations in the Department of Turkish Art. It is mandatory to comply with these conditions.

* Documents uploaded to the system must be officially approved and readable, otherwise the documents will not be processed.

* The mobile phone and e-mail information used by the applicants are important. In order to receive accurate and regular information, please enter your current e-mail and mobile phone information. Mobile phone notifications will be provided free of charge.
